I don’t know what to say. I probably would sound insensitive but I really am going blank. I just feel that when I write, I pour a little of myself in each composition. I am not expecting anything, I’m not even expecting it to be read. But here we are. 🙂
I am really blessed and happy for those who kept reading my blog. I really appreciate it. I hope you see improvements on my writing, whether personal or random compositions. Hahaha! LOL (speech, speech, speech)
I would like to say, thank you Susan of Purrsian Tea, for nominating me for this Award. Hope you all still like my blog even when I don’t feel like posting anything. 😛
In Susan’s post, it says:
“The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive, and inspiring. Once nominated, the blogger is required to write a post in which they:
- Thank the blogger who nominated them and link back to their blog.
- Answer 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated them.
- Nominate [at least] 11 other blogs and give them 11 new questions to answer.
- Notify your nominees and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post.”
Without further ado, here are the answers to Susan’s questions:
When and why did you make your blog? I started blogging when blog wasn’t even popular. It was mid-2000s. I can’t retrieve my blog anymore. It was composed mostly of my thoughts. I wasn’t even taking it seriously. Didn’t even think my friends or anyone would read it. Fast forward – 2011, I wanted to improve my writing and hopefully make money out of it. I was doing freelance copy-writing then and although, my writing was acceptable, it was lacking – until now actually. But as the years passed, I noticed some improvements in my writing style, grammar, tone, etc. and my intentions about writing changed. I am not anymore concerned about profit but further improvement. If along the way, I get to write and earn at the same time, that would be a dream :).
How often do you spend writing for your blog? I don’t spend much time as I want to. You probably have already noticed that I don’t really post regularly. I write everyday; a quote, a sentence or a paragraph, but I don’t post it in my blog.
What is your favourite topic to write on? Hmmm… It really varies. Sometimes it’s about relationships, sometimes it’s about depression. It depends on what I feel. I know I shouldn’t rely on feelings or moods to write more often. I do like however to write about what I’m grateful for. Knowing there’s something good in everyday, shouldn’t we be grateful for that? For someone, who had depression and can still be triggered at moment’s notice, being grateful helps me remember the good things. It helps me and it assures me that I am not alone.
Name a source of inspiration. Music, Bible, Books, Quote, Nature, Compliments, Random Conversations, etc. LOL!
State an interesting and lesser known fact about yourself. I don’t know if it’s even interesting but I like crafts. I like learning new things.
What’s the story behind your blog title/name? Initially, my blog title was “Pano Ba Mag-Blog?” (How to blog?). I don’t know blogging then and I don’t know how to use WordPress. It’s one of those spur-of-the-moment name that came to my mind. That was my dilemma, so that’s what I wrote as title. I changed it to My Blog Project, when I became consistent in posting in this blog. Then recently changed the domain to bebekohblogproject so it’s easy to remember.
In what places have you lived? I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I moved and currently working in the Middle East, particularly in the country of Oman. I live in the capital, Muscat.
What subject matter or genres do you enjoy reading about (in books and blogs)? In books, mostly romance. I also like a good mystery, conspiracy theories, thriller, young adult, a bit of history, some biographies, etc. In blogs, I like humorous, travel-themed, poetry, personal thoughts, writing ideas, also some Christian or devotional themed, etc.
What advice would you give to someone starting a blog? Just keep writing. It may not be read or it probably sucks. Be consistent and it will all work out. 🙂
Name a favourite novel character and give a reason why they’re your favourite. Robert Langdon (Dan Brown Series). He’s not overly rich. He’s a professor. He’s smart. He keeps getting in trouble because of his expertise. What I don’t like about him? He’s not a believer. His intelligence clouded his beliefs. He mixes every religion, every doctrine, and every theories in his head that he has his own version of god.
What is a book from your childhood that stands out to you? There’s a book titled 10-minute tales, that my mom bought for us. It’s a collection of nursery rhymes, super short stories, and witty poems. She didn’t read it to us, as bedtime stories. It was only when I was old enough to read that I read it myself and understood the stories. I liked “Sweet Valley” Series, and “Sweet Dream Series” from Mills and Boon (young adult).
Thank you Susan, felt a bit nostalgic… Hahaha!
